Mulesing deadline caused worry

Wool industry leaders are insisting that alternatives to mulesing will be available by the 2010 deadline but others say there is no hope of acceptable options in that timeframe. Yesterday the NSW Farmers Association executives voted to support more research into Tri-Solfen, a painkilling post-mulesing spray, in case mulesing alternatives prove unviable. The wool industry fears a backlash from retailers if a solution to the controversial mulesing procedure is not found.
