Wool production down
27 Mar 2007

Wool prices fell by 2 per cent in the past week as the Australian dollar rose above US80c. Wool production for the 2006-07 season is forecast to be 425 million kilograms greasy, the lowest since 1946. Higher feed prices and a lack of water caused by the drought has made many wool producers sell their flocks for meat to gain some income.
