Drought a bonus for wool 25 May 2007
The drought is constricting wool supply and driving prices up. Prices on the Eastern Market Indicator rose 1.2 per cent yesterday to $10.08 per kilogram, the highest since April 2003. Wool output in Australia is expected to drop 1.2 per cent in the year ending 30 June 2008. Chris Wilcox, chief economist for Woolmark Co. said that prices may keep rising.
