IDQ20765 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FLOOD WARNING FOR THE COMET, MACKENZIE, DAWSON and NOGOA RIVERS Issued at 9:39 AM on Tuesday the 9th of February 2010 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Major flooding continues along the Comet River and minor to moderate flooding is expected downstream on the Mackenzie River during this week. Major flooding peaked during Monday afternoon in the Taroom area on the Dawson River and flooding will continue downstream throughout the week. Minor flooding is expected along the Nogoa river.
Below minor flooding is occurring on the Mackenzie river from Tartrus to Riverslea. Some minor flooding is occurring at Yaamba on the Fitzroy River. River levels at Rockhampton are expected to remain below minor flood level. COMET and MACKENZIE RIVERS:
Major flooding continues along the Comet River from Rolleston to The Lake. Moderate to major flooding is expected to continue from The Lake to Comet Weir through this week. River levels at Rolleston are falling slowly; at 9am Tuesday, the river level was 4.95 metres. Flooding will extend downstream into the Mackenzie river during this week with minor to moderate flooding expected from Rileys Crossing to Bingegang.
DAWSON RIVER:
Minor flooding continues in the Upper Dawson catchment. River levels at Taroom peaked during Monday and are now easing. At 5am Tuesday, the river level at Taroom was 6.12 metres. Minor flooding continues on the Dawson River with minor to moderate flooding expected during this week from Taroom to Moura Weir and moderate to major flooding expected between Bindaree and Beckers.
Nogoa River:
Minor flooding is expected from Mantuan Downs to Craigmore through the coming week. Predicted River Heights/Flows: Moura: Reach at least 8 metres later this week.

IDQ20825 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FLOOD WARNING FOR DOGWOOD CREEK AND THE BALONNE RIVER Issued at 9:45 AM on Tue{day the 9th of February 2010 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Minor flooding is easing on Dogwood Creek at Pine Hill Crossing. Flood levels peaked yesterday on the Balonne River at Surat causing moderate flooding with renewed rises expected over the next few days. River rises are occurring downstream of Beardmore Dam in the area between St George and Hastings, with minor flooding rising slowly at St George and at Whyenbah. Minor flooding continues to ease on Dogwood Creek at Pine Hill Crossing, where at 6am Tuesday the creek level was 4.30 metres and falling.
Flood levels on Bungil and Yuleba Creek have now fallen below the minor flood level.
Minob flooding has developed on the Balonne River at Warkon. Moderate flooding has now peaked at Surat, but renewed rises are expected as upstream flood waters from Warkon arrive over the next few days.
Minor flooding is rising fast in Muckadilla Creek at Karoola Park, with rises being recorded at Warroo just upstream of Beardmore Dam. Minor flooding continues to slowly rise downstream of Beardmore Dam at St George, with possible moderate flooding developing during the week.
Fast river rises and minor flooding are occurring further downstream on the Balonne River at Has|ings and also on the Culgoa River at Whyenbah. Stream rises are expected to extend downstream to the NSW Border during this week.

IDQ20835 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FINAL FLOOD WARNING FOR WYAGA AND YARRILL CREEKS AND THE WEIR RIVER Issued at 11:52 AM on Monday the 8th of February 2010 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Minor flooding continues to ease on Wyaga Creek at Kilbronae. Water levels downstream on Yarrill Creek at Medpark Bridge peaked overnight below minor flood level, and are currently easing. Small river rises are expected to occur along the Weir River downstream from Giddi Giddi during this week, but are expected to remain below minor flood level. At 3am Monday, the level of Wyaga Creek at Kilbronae was 1.13 metres and causing minor flooding, with water levels expected to continue to ease during Monday. Weather Forecast:

IDQ20845 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FLOOD WARNING FOR THE WARREGO RIVER Issued at 11:08 AM on Tuesday the 9th of February 2010 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Locally heavy falls have been recorded in the Upper Warrego catchment during Monday. Rises are expected along the Warrego River with minor to moderate flooding at Charleville late this week. Renewed rises are expected on the Ward and Langlo Rivers leading to moderate flooding later this week. Minor to moderate flooding continues on the lower Warrego between Wyandra and Rocky. Recent rainfall in the Nive and Warrego River catchments is expected to cause rises leading to minor, possibly moderate flooding at Charleville during Thursday and Friday.
Minor flooding is currently easing on the Langlo River at Warilda and downstream on the Ward River at Binnowee. Renewed rises to moderate flood levels are expected following rainfall on Monday.
On the Lower Warrego River downstream of Charleville, minor to moderate flooding continues between Wyandra and Rocky. Levels are expected to fall before renewed rises over the weekend.

Locally heavy falls have been reported in the upper Paroo catchment during Monday morning. River rises are expected on the Paroo River and Beechal Creek over the next 2 days upstream of Humeburn, extending to Eulo later this week.
Moderate flooding continues on the Paroo River at Eulo. At 6:30am Tuesday the river level was 3.35 metres which is 0.35 metres above the level of the approaches to the Paroo River Bridge.
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring on the Paroo River between Eulo and Hungerford. At 6:30am Tuesday, the river level at Hungerford was 1.45 metres and rising with minor flooding, which is about 0.45 metres above the Paroo River crossing. Further river rises at Hungerford are expected to reach about 1.6 metres (moderate flood) during Wednesday. IDQ20855 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FLOOD WARNING FOR THE BULLOO RIVER Issued at 10:40 AM on Tuesday the 9th of February 2010 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Renewed rises and major flooding is occurring on Blackwater Creek at Adavale following heavy rainfall across the upper Bulloo catchment during Monday. Moderate flooding continues on the Bulloo River at Quilpie, with renewed rises and a return to major flooding expected within the next few days. Slow river rises and moderate flooding are extending downstream of Quilpie along the Bulloo River between South Comongin and Thargomindah. Following heavy rainfall yesterday across the upper Bulloo catchment, fast stream rises causing major flooding is occurring on Blackwater Creek at Adavale. Renewed rises are expected downstream on the Bulloo River at Quilpie during the next few days as river levels exceed the major flood level of 5 metres once again. At 8am Tuesday, the river level at Quilpie was 4.8 metres with moderate flooding, which is about 0.2 metres above the level of the John Waugh Bridge.
Moderate flooding continues downstream along the Bulloo River between South Comongin and Autumnvale, with the flood peak currently in the South Comongin area. Moderate flooding continues to slowly ease at Thargomindah but renewed rises are expected during this week. At 9am Tuesday the river level at Thargomindah was 5.1 metres, which is about 1.0 metre above the level of the Bulloo River Bridge. IDQ20860 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FLOOD WARNING FOR THE THOMSON AND BARCOO RIVERS AND THE COOPER CREEK Issued at 11:05 AM on Tuesday the 9th of February 2010 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Minor flooding continues to ease on the Thomson River at Longreach, with minor to moderate flooding expected to develop downstream between Stonehenge and Jundah during this week. Minor to moderate flooding is easing along the Barcoo River, with major flooding peaking at Retreat. Moderate flooding is rising fast on the Cooper Creek at Windorah, with river levels continuing to ease slowly further downstream along the Cooper Creek in the Durham Downs area and on the Wilson River at Noccundra.
Minor flooding continues to slowly ease on the Thomson River at Longreach. At 5am Tuesday the river level at Longreach was 4.4 metres and falling slowly, which is about 0.9 metres above the level of the old bridge. River levels are expected to continue falling slowly over the next few days, with river levels rising further downstream along the Thomson River at Stonehenge and at Jundah, where moderate flooding is expected during the week.
Heavy rainfall recorded across the Barcoo River catchment during Monday will result in renewed rises across the numerous small creek systems and along the Barcoo River during this week. The heaviest daily rainfall totals recorded to 9am Tuesday include Tambo 55mm, Gillespie 60mm, Listowel Downs 34mm, Duneira 32mm, Blackall Airport 34mm, Wahroongha 44mm, Navarra 48mm, and Retreat 29mm.
Minor flooding continues to ease along the lower Barcoo River between Isisford and Wahroongha, with moderate flooding easing downstream at Glenlock and major flooding peaking at Retreat, where the river level at 6am Tuesday was 7.34 metres and rising.
Downstream on the Cooper Creek at Windorah, fast river rises are causing moderate flooding. At 8am Tuesday the river level at Windorah was 4.2 metres, which is about 0.1 metres below the approaches on the Diamantina Development Road.
Moderate flooding continues to ease slowly further downstream on the Cooper Creek at Durham Downs. Minor flooding continues to ease slowly on the Wilson River at Noccundra. IDQ20875 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FLINDERS, NORMAN AND ADJACENT GULF RIVERS Issued at 10:18 AM on Tuesday the 9th of February 2010 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. River levels remain near a peak on the Flinders River at Etta Plains. Minor flooding continues to ease on the lower Flinders River at Walkers Bend, with further renewed rises expected later this week. Minor to moderate flooding is easing slowly on the lower Norman River. In the Gilbert River catchment river rises will remain below the minor flood level along the Einasleigh River. NORMAN RIVER:
Moderate flooding is easing at the Yappar River junction. Minor flooding continues to ease on the Norman River at Glenore Weir and Normanton. At 7:30am Tuesday the river level at Normanton was 3.03 metres and falling causing minor flooding.
FLINDERS RIVER:
River levels remain near a peak on the Flinders River at Etta Plains with minor flooding easing at Walkers Bend. At 8am Tuesday the river level at Walkers Bend was 5.13 metres and falling, which is now below the level of the Flinders River bridge. People are advised that thunderstorms have developed, and there is a risk of severe thunderstorms during this afternoon and evening. Storms may be accompanied by very heavy rainfall conducive to flash flooding, large hail and strong winds that could result in damage to property. FESA State Emergency Service [SES] advises people to secure loose items, move vehicles under cover and stay inside away from windows. If there is lightning unplug electrical appliances and avoid using landline telephones. If caught outside find shelter away from trees, powerlines, storm water drains and streams.
