Synoptic situation a vigorous cold front will move across coastal waters east of Kangaroo Island on Friday afternoon. A ridge will develop over the north of South Australia during the weekend with a northwest to southwest airstream over the coastal waters.
Gale Warning For the Far West, West, South Central and South East Coasts and southern Spencer Gulf. SW winds 30/40 knots on the Far West and West Coasts easing to 20/33 knots by midnight Friday. Winds easing further to below 25 knots on the Far West Coast by noon Saturday and on the West Coast by late Saturday evening. W/SW winds 30/40 knots on the South Central Coast easing to 20/30 knots Saturday morning and below 25 knots on Saturday evening. NW/SW winds 20/33 knots on southern Spencer Gulf and the South East Coast. SW winds increasing to 30/40 knots early Saturday before easing to 20/30 knots around the middle of the day then easing below 25 knots by late evening. Isolated thunderstorms Friday evening and early Saturday morning. Seas 3 to 5 m. W/SW swell 2.5 to 3.5 m, increasing 3 to 5 m on exposed waters.
