Strong Wind Warning For the South Coast, from Ulladulla to Montague Island

Priority NSW SEVERE WEATHER WARNING Damaging Winds For people on Lord Howe Island Issued at 3:50 am on Sunday 5 July 2009
Synoptic Situation: 3:00 am EST Sunday A deep and complex low pressure trough is located over the southeast Tasman Sea. This, in combination with a strong High pressure system over WA, is producing gale force southwesterly winds over Lord Howe Island, which are expected to continue today then ease tonight as the low moves further east.
This is an update of the warning issued at 10:00 pm Saturday.
Wind will average over 65 km/h with peak gusts exceeding 90 km/h today. Emergency services advise you to keep clear of fallen power lines, stay indoors away from windows and keep children indoors.

Synoptic Situation An area of low pressure over the Tasman Sea will remain slow moving over the next couple of days as a high slowly approaches Tasmania from the west.
Gale Warning For northern and eastern waters, excluding Banks Strait and Franklin Sound Sandy Cape to South East Cape Southwest winds 25 to 35 knots, reaching 40 knots in the east, easing to 20 to 30 knots about the north during the morning and elsewhere in the evening. Seas mostly 2 to 4 metres. Swell: Southeast: Southwest 3.5 to 4.5 metres. North: Westerly to 1.5 metres. East: Southerly to 2.5 metres.
Strong Wind Warning For Banks Strait and Franklin Sound, Southwest winds 15 to 25 knots, reaching 30 knots locally at first. Seas to 2 metres. Mainly southeast swell to 1.5 metres.
Strong Wind Warning For the Southwest Coast and the Central West Coast, South East Cape to Sandy Cape Southwest winds 20 to 30 knots, easing to 15 to 25 knots in the west in the morning and for a period during the day in the southwest before tending west to southwest overnight at 20 to 30 knots. Seas to 2 to 4 metres. Southwest swell 3.5 to 4.5 metres.

Final Flood Warning for the Meander River Basin. Water levels in the lower reaches of the Meander did not rise as expected, instead overnight levels fallen to below the minor flood level this morning.
Water levels will continue to fall steadily today, but it will be several days before the river returns to normal levels.

Final Flood Warning for the South Esk River Basin. Water levels in the upper reaches have dropped below the minor flood level today, and continue to fall steadily.
This flow is has caused strong rises about the middle reaches, but it is not expected water levels will exceed the minor flood level.
Water levels in the Longford-Perth area remain close to the minor flood level. It will be several days before this area of the river returns to normal levels.

Final Flood Warning for the Macquarie River Basin. Minor flooding continues in the lower reaches of the Macquarie River, with water levels continuing to fall at Cressy. Water levels are expected to fall below the minor flood levels overnight, and it will be several days before this area of the river returns to normal levels.
Mt Morriston peaked at 2.05 m about 11 am, Fri 26/6 Ross peaked at 2.42 m about 4.30 am, Sat 27/6. Morningside peaked at 3.94 m about 6.30 am, Sat 27/6 . Cressy Pumps peaked at 3.60 m about 7.30 pm, Wed 01/7.
