Saturday evening.
PLEASE NOTE: A significant low pressure system is expected to develop on Sunday
with winds reaching at least gale force later Sunday into Monday.

For the Far North Coast, Mid North Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra
Coast, South Coast, from Gabo Island to Point Danger

NW winds strengthening from the south to 25/33 knots during Saturday. Seas
rising 2 to 3 metres. Swell about 1 metre.

Strong Wind Warning
For Sydney Closed Waters, For Pittwater, Port Jackson and Botany Bay

NW winds reaching 25/30 knots Saturday evening. Waters becoming choppy.

For all South Australian Coasts.
Issued at 4:20 pm CST on Friday 16 May 2008

Synoptic situation
a vigorous cold front will move across coastal waters east of Kangaroo Island on
Friday afternoon. A ridge will develop over the north of South Australia during
the weekend with a northwest to southwest airstream over the coastal waters.

Gale Warning
For the Far West, West, South Central and South East Coasts and southern Spencer
Gulf.
SW winds 30/40 knots on the Far West and West Coasts easing to 20/33 knots by
midnight Friday. Winds easing further to below 25 knots on the Far West Coast by
noon Saturday and on the West Coast by late Saturday evening.
W/SW winds 30/40 knots on the South Central Coast easing to 20/30 knots Saturday
morning and below 25 knots on Saturday evening.
NW/SW winds 20/33 knots on southern Spencer Gulf and the South East Coast. SW
winds increasing to 30/40 knots early Saturday before easing to 20/30 knots
around the middle of the day then easing below 25 knots by late evening.
Isolated thunderstorms Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
Seas 3 to 5 m. W/SW swell 2.5 to 3.5 m, increasing 3 to 5 m on exposed waters.

Strong Wind Warning
for the remainder of Gulf Waters.
W/NW winds 20/30 knots ahead of a W/SW change 25/33 knots extending throughout
by late Friday afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms, mainly this evening. Seas 2 to
3 m. W/SW swell 1.5 to 2.5 m on southern Gulf St Vincent.

North to northeast winds mostly 20 to 30 knots, easing to 10 to 20 knots about
the central west tonight and to 15 to 25 knots in the northwest overnight. Winds
reaching 30 knots about the northwest again later tomorrow and tending
southwesterly. Seas to 2 to 3 metres. West to southwest swell near 2 metres,
